Miracle Baby Kathryn's future is bright with a beautiful daughter and marriage on the way, but it has not always been so. Married, divorced, miscarriages and lost hope plagued Kathryn for many years. After being told she could never have children, Kathryn's husband left after 3 miscarriages and abandoned dreams. After meeting a wonderful man named Mike who accepted Kathryn just the way she was, life seemed to get back on track for the young woman, until some expected news came. A baby was on the way! Kathryn defied the odds of having a baby when she least expected it. After finding out the fantastic news of being pregnant, Kathryn would soon be racked with 24 hour morning sickness, bed rest and diagnosed with a low lying placenta that would inevitable cause an early delivery. At just 30 weeks, Kathryn's little girl was about to make her morning debut! Thinking she was having Braxton Hicks, Kathryn ignored the contractions until they progressively got worse. Finally, unable to stand the pain and thinking something was wrong, she went to the hospital to find out she was about to deliver! Kaylyn was born, 3 lbs, 1oz and taken directly to the NICU, with only a picture handed to the mother. At fourteen months old, Kaylyn is a healthy, well adjusted baby who has beaten the odds. Born at just 30 weeks and weighing 3 lbs and 1 oz, Kaylyn spent much of her first month away from her mom, fighting to come out of the NICU. "Kaylyn was a fighter and sailed through her time in the NICU with out any complications! We felt so lucky!! She came home October 25th a full month before her due date weighing 4 lbs 12 oz ." "Kaylyn has defied the odds her whole life. She is a healthy happy 14 month old now, has never been behind in her developmental growth, has always been an easy going baby and has never been sick or had any kind of set back since she was born. If you were to look at her now you would never know she was a preemie. Now, she is 30 inches tall and 22 lbs, doing everything and more as if she never spent any time in the NICU. We feel so blessed to have her in our life." Thank you Kathryn for your incredible story, we appreciate you sharing your family with all of us. We congratulate you on your "miracle" and wish you many more! |
