Baby Einstein has been a staple to entertaining kids for years and I LOVED the videos. My kids enjoy the puppets, noises and comedic actions portrayed in the videos. My son started really getting interested when he was 2 and was able to recite them back and forth. My daughter on the other hand took to the videos immediately at just a few months old. Each child is different, but if you want a GREAT educational video with humorous, fun characters, this is it. There is a wide variety of genres ranging from art, colors, music, shapes, animals, and you get the idea. Two thumbs up folks!! Brainy Baby is another company that has made fantastic videos my kids watch. The difference b/t baby Einstein and Brainy Baby is where Baby Einstein uses puppets and characters for entertainment, Brainy baby uses kids! Both Nicholas and Maddie get the biggest kick out of babies and kids in the videos singing dancing, playing instruments, etc. They also have a wide variety of videos and my kids enjoy learning their numbers, colors, and shapes, plus animals and musical instruments. Babyscapes is a company my sister in law introduced me to. When I had my first, Nicholas, she gave me her old videos that my nieces watched. (Hand me downs are so COOL!!, get them while you can) These are awesome shows for kids! These videos use 3-D images for colors, numbers, shapes, letters and animals. There is also a video just for babies all in red, black and white, how awesome is that! Each tape is about 25 minutes long, and images are played while listening to Mozart and other composers. As babies and now, BOTH, my kids love the old favorites Blues Clues and Bear in the big house (Luna is the favorite in my house). I am sure I need to say NO more, we know they are AWESOME! You can get to Bear and other great characters from the Disney website at www.disneydirect.com or www.playhousedisney.com On the website there are fantastic characters and free games, ideas and activities for all kids (more detail in free activities section!) Playhouse Disney and Nickelodeon or www.nick.com wrote the book on entertaining kids and have wonderful videos, games, books! Check out the sites and I KNOW you will find something your baby will like.

Can't forget to the mention the people who started it all, PBS!! There's Sesame Street, Jay Jay the Jet Plane and many more. They have a website that is also dedicated to free activities, games and more, plus you can select from their shop ALL the videos (even when we were kids) your kids love. Well, I could go on for days, but I have to mention one more, Barney!! How could you NOT know the "I Love You" song. Nicholas just RAVED about him (his favorite is the Barney colors, live on stage). Every baby and toddler has their own special character they love to watch and play with. I have only scratched the surface of the characters to love and watch. There are other shows on noggin, nickjr, playhouse Disney, PBS, and more. Find what works for you.
